Dear Comrades,
GEARING UP FOR NATIONWIDE STRIKE CALL FOR 29TH FEBRUARY, 2016
SUCCESSFUL DEMONSTRATION REFLECTS OUR RESOLVE
Our members are well aware that our Confederation is on war path against the unceremonious termination of Com. P.V. Mohanan General Secretary of Dhanlaxmi Bank Officers’ Organisation and Vice President of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, by the management of Dhanlaxmi Bank. With no positive development despite our all round efforts, we were compelled to resort to strike call on 29th February,2016 on the issue of reinstatement of Com. Mohanan.
We have received reports of spontaneous outbreak of protest demonstration from all parts of the country. Successful demonstrations were held at all State Capitals & Major Centres yesterday i.e. 22.02.2016 as per the action programme decided by AIBOC as preparatory exercise for the strike on 29.02.2016.
At Mumbai, a massive demonstration was held under the banner of AIBOC addressed by Com. M.B. Tripathi, MS-I State Committee infront of Dhanlaxmi Bank, Janmabhumi Bhavan, Fort, Mumbai. The Regional Head, Dhanlaxmi Bank, reflecting the callousness lodged a complaint against the demonstration and sought the police intervention, despite the peaceful demonstration. We condemn this act of the Management in strong voice. Nearly 700 officers gathered infront of Allahabad Bank, Civil Lines Branch, Nagpur for demonstration. Com. Anant kulkarni Secretary, MS-II State, Convenor, UFBU Nagpur & President MS-II State committee – Com. B.K. Talware and Com. Devraj Mishra, the former State Secretary, MS II addressed the gathering. State Secretary, Vidarbha BEFI, Com. V.V. Asai while addressing the gathering appreciated the initiative taken by our Confederation and extended their fraternal support. INBOC Vice President Com.. The demonstrations were held successfully at Chennai, Kottayam, Manglore, Bangalore, Patna, Lucknow, Dehradun, Guwahati and many other places.
BEFI has extended its support which is covered by Business Line. Com. C. J. Nandkumar – General Secretary, BEFI, Kerala has assured that its members would participate in all action programme and sit-ins to demand the immediate reinstatement of Com. P.V. Mohanan.
Comrades, the agitations for the reinstatement of Com. P V Mohanan has entered a crucial and decisive phase.
The disdainful manner of the dismissal, unheard of anywhere else in the industry, has violated the principles of natural justice and we are confident that the righteousness would triumph in the end. With revolutionary greetings,
Yours comradely,
(HARVINDER SINGH)
GENERAL SECRETARY
