Advances in connection with Leave Travel Concession – Amendments to Rule 235 of the General Financial Rules, 1963.
The Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms O.M.No.31011/4/78- Estt.A, dated the 1st September, 1978 in which it has been decided that a Government servant can draw advance in respect of the journey proposed to be performed under the Leave Travel Concession Scheme, by himself and/or by the member of his family sixty days before the proposed date of the outward journey by rail. He should, Howerver, produce railway cash receipts within ten days of the drawal of advance to the competent authority to show that he has actually utilised the amount to purchase the tickets.
The Government employees who propose to travel by road and wish to avail the leave travel concession shall continue to get the advance in this connection thirty days in advance.
In view of the position stated in para 1 above, it has become necessary to amend rules 235(1) and 235(2) (v) of the General Financial Rules, 1963. Accordingly, the necessary amendments are enclosed.
