No proposal to raise retirement age of IAS/IPS officers
Today in Rajya Sabha the Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Shri Jitendra Singh replied to the questions regarding the retirement age of IAS/IPS officers asked by the Member of Shri Naresh Agarwal.
Questions :
(a) whether Government has decided to raise the retirement age of IAS and IPS officers;
(b) whether Government has decided to put retirement age of these officers at a par with the judges of Supreme Court and High Courts; and
(c) if so, by when it will be implemented, and if not, the reasons therefor?
Reply :
There is no such proposal for enhancement of retirement age of IAS and IPS officer and to bring the same at par with the retirement age of Judges of Supreme Court and High Courts.
